Alanya Blue Flag Inspections: Alanya is getting ready for summer 2025 with a splash of blue!
The city has officially kicked off its Blue Flag inspections, a prestigious environmental certification awarded to beaches, marinas, and tourism vessels that meet high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Across Alanya, a total of 67 private facility beaches, 7 public beaches, 4 tourism boats, and 1 marina are undergoing thorough pre-season evaluations.

A Collaborative Effort for a Cleaner Alanya
These inspections are being carried out meticulously through the cooperation of the Alanya Municipality’s Directorate of Climate Change. And Zero Waste, TÜRÇEV Antalya Coordination, and the Alanya District Health Directorate.
The program, initiated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and coordinated in Turkey by TÜRÇEV, plays a crucial role in integrating sustainable environmental practices into tourism.
Beaches are evaluated based on 33 specific criteria and 16 behavioral rules, covering aspects such as water quality, lifeguard services, disabled access, environmental education, and waste separation systems. Tourism boats and marinas are also judged on corporate social responsibility practices and community engagement efforts.
A Global Standard in 50 Countries: The Blue Flag
The Blue Flag Program, which began in 1987 during the European Year of the Environment, has been implemented in Turkey since 1993. It aims to protect public health, promote environmental awareness, and encourage sustainable tourism practices. Today, it operates successfully in over 50 countries.
