34th International Alanya Triathlon Concludes: In Alanya — the dazzling jewel of the Mediterranean where summer reigns for nearly nine months — athletes from all over the world gathered for an unforgettable sporting spectacle.

Held under the theme “One Step Before Halfway”, the 34th International Alanya Triathlon delivered three days of breathtaking competition, marking another milestone in the city’s rich sporting legacy.
Since ancient times, this timeless region — a crossroads of art, culture, and community — has always attracted both locals and foreigners alike. Today, Alanya continues to capture the world’s attention as a place where living is truly a privilege.

Colorful Scenes in the Public Triathlon

To encourage citizens to embrace an active lifestyle, the Public Triathlon brought together 130 amateur athletes, who completed 250 meters of swimming, 5 kilometers of cycling, and 1.2 kilometers of running.
Competitors in various age categories swam 1,500 meters, cycled 40 kilometers, and ran a 10-kilometer course.
The first to reach the finish line was Barış İlhan, earning the loudest cheers from spectators.

Fierce Competition on the International Stage

With 242 athletes from 34 countries, the European Cup Races for Juniors and Elites once again proved Alanya’s status as a world-class sports destination.
Among the juniors, Sofia Tikhonova won the women’s race in 56:16, while Arthur Baigildin triumphed in the men’s event with a time of 51:35.
In the elite categories, Manon Laporte of France (54:09) won among women, and Louis Vitiello of France (47:58) took first place among men.
Spectators were treated to unforgettable performances as the athletes brought the vibrant spirit of Alanya to life.

The Little Ones Took the Stage with Balance Bikes

Under the leadership of Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, the Balance Bike Event offered a joyful introduction to sports for children.
Thirty-eight preschoolers aged 4 to 5 filled the event with laughter and energy, earning rounds of applause from the crowd.

Paratriathlon World Cup in the Accessible City of Alanya

“To overcome obstacles is to chase your dreams.”

This year, Alanya hosted the Paratriathlon World Cup, featuring awe-inspiring performances of determination and resilience.

Competing in six categories, the athletes showcased the true spirit of triathlon.
Among the men, Semen Radaev, Kenshiro Nakayama, Fabrizio Suarato, Gregoire Berthon, Aleksandr Konyshev, and Lukasz Wietecki claimed first place in their respective divisions. In the women’s races, Gitte Welslau, Serena Banzato, Kübra Dere, Lauren Steadman, and Fanny Bourdelas stood atop the podium with outstanding performances.

A Ceremony Filled with Pride and Honor

After the competitions, an award ceremony took place where winners received their medals from Alanya District Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk, Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, and officials from the Turkish Triathlon Federation.
Special plaques were presented to institutions, organizations, and volunteers who contributed to the event, as attendees celebrated the successful completion of yet another world-class triathlon.

A Spectacular Closing and an Invitation for the 35th Edition

The event concluded with a grand closing dinner at Occo Beach, where Alanya Municipality Advisor and Event Coordinator Abdurrahman Açıkalın praised the success of the organization:

“A total of 565 athletes, including 242 international participants from 34 countries, competed this year.
Together with the Alanya District Governorate, our Municipality, ALTİD, ALTSO, and ALTAV, we’ve built a tradition of excellence since 1991. Next year, we’ll celebrate the 35th edition of our Triathlon — and we’re already inviting everyone to join us.”
